Russia might have taken its MiG-31Ks from Belarus
The MiG-31K jets might have returned from Belarus to Russia. The Russian planes did not stay in Belarus for two days.
Two Russian MiG-31K fighter jets arrived at the Machulishchi airfield on October 9 and 10. But on October 10, both aircraft took off from the Belarusian airfield.
“Later, several monitoring channels reported that the MiGs had landed at Machulishchi, but we, in turn, did not confirm this and did not report the landing of the fighters. Based on the available information, we know that the MiG-31Ks did not return to the airfield after takeoff,” a local source said.
According to the monitoring Telegram channel, after taking off from Machulyshche, the fighters headed south, flew past Baranovichi, and then headed toward Russia. Therefore, it's believed that the Russian MiG-31Ks most likely returned to Russian territory.
The deployment of Russian MiG-31K fighters to Belarus was the first such case in the last year and a half. The MiG-31Ks pose a danger because of their weapons, the Kinzhal hypersonic missile, which has a range of up to 2,000 kilometers and can reach any point in Ukraine in minutes.
