Russia massively strikes Ukraine's Kharkiv, Dnipro and Sumy region: Details and aftermath

On the night of July 26, the Russians launched a new combined strike on Ukraine, using drones and missiles, including ballistic missiles. The eastern regions were mostly under fire.

What Russia attacked with
Russia's attack began on the evening of July 25, when the Russians launched drones at Ukraine from different directions.
According to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Russians launched a total of 208 strike drones and simulator drones, as well as 27 missiles:
- 12 ballistic missiles Iskander-M"/KN-23
- 8 cruise missiles Iskander-K
- 7 guided aircraft missiles Kh-59/69.
Ukrainian air defense neutralized 183 drones and 17 missiles.
Ukrainian Air Force reported that the main direction of the strike was the Dnipropetrovsk region. 10 Russian missiles and 25 attack drones were recorded in 9 locations, as well as the fall of downed ones (fragments) - in 8 locations.
Kharkiv
The city of Kharkiv was under massive Russian fire. According to Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the Russians launched over 20 strikes in 3 hours, launching 4 guided bombs, 2 ballistic missiles, and then 15 Shahed drones.
In Kharkiv, residential high-rise buildings, a civilian enterprise, roads, and a contact network were damaged. As of this morning, 7 fires were still being extinguished in the Kyivskyi district.
In addition, Russians launched an attack on rescuers who arrived to eliminate the consequences of the previous Russian strike. As a result, 5 people were initially injured, 3 of whom were employees of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. 3 fire and rescue vehicles were damaged.
Despite the danger, firefighters rescued people from the Russian strikes and took them to shelter. In total, 6 people were saved, including 2 children.
Dnipro
Russia also struck Dnipro. A high-rise building and enterprises were damaged in Dnipro, and cars were burning in the parking lot.
"Unfortunately, we already have one killed person in a residential high-rise building, an elite skyscraper," says the city's mayor, Borys Filatov.
According to the head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration, Serhii Lysak, a man was killed in Dnipro and a woman was injured. Later, he said that the 21-year-old victim died in the hospital.
According to the regional military administration, as of 10:30 a.m. Kyiv time, 2 injured men aged 46 and 33 are in the hospital. In total, 3 people were killed and 6 were injured in Dnipro and the region.
Kamianske
According to the mayor of Kamianske, Andrii Bilousov, several fires broke out near the city due to the Russian attack. There is damage to the housing stock, but there were no casualties.
"The fire destroyed the shopping center Epicenter (territorially Dnipropetrovsk district of the region). The fire has already been extinguished," he notes.
The head of the Dnipropetrovsk regional military administration reported that a total of 7 Russian missiles and 26 drones were shot down in the region.
Shostka
Russians massively struck Shostka, Sumy region, with drones, missiles, and guided aerial bombs. The head of the Sumy regional military administration, Oleh Hryhorov, announced damage in the residential sector, 4 private houses caught fire, several high-rise buildings and infrastructure facilities were damaged.
Later, he clarified that 3 people were injured as a result of the Russian night attack on the Shostka community. 2 women and a man were hospitalized with burns and shrapnel wounds.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy reacted to the night Russian strikes. He emphasized that there can be no silence in response to such Russian strikes.
