On the night of February 20, the Russian occupiers massively attacked Ukraine's gas infrastructure. In particular, production facilities were damaged, according to Ukrainian Energy Minister German Galushchenko.

“Last night, Russia again carried out another massive missile and drone attack on Ukrainian gas infrastructure. In particular, production facilities were damaged. As soon as the security situation allowed, experts began assessing the damage and restoration work,” he said.

According to the minister, the purpose of the Russian attacks is to stop gas production, which is necessary to meet the domestic needs of citizens and centralized heating.

Measures are currently being taken to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attacks and stabilize gas supplies.

“While Russia continues to openly lie about not attacking civilian critical infrastructure, we are witnessing several Russian missiles targeting Ukrainian gas production facilities at once,” the Energy Minister added.

Russian combined attack on Ukraine

Last night, the Russians fired 14 missiles (cruise missiles Kh-101/Kh-55 and ballistic missiles Iskander-M/KN-23) and 161 drones at Ukraine.

Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 80 Russian drones. Another 78 Russian imitator drones were lost in the area.

As reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kharkiv, Sumy, Odesa, and Kyiv regions suffered from the Russian attack.

For the second day in a row, Russian drones attacked the Odesa region, targeting an energy facility. About 5,000 residents of Odesa were left without electricity.
