On the morning of December 20, Russian troops massively shelled Kherson. Footage of the aftermath revealed, according to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Prokudin.

Kherson woke up to the Russian attacks. Explosions were heard in all districts of the city. According to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Russians targeted residential buildings and social and critical infrastructure.

As of 8:50 a.m., one person was killed and 9 wounded in the Russian shelling. A 60-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries. He was indoors at the time of the attack.

The head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration said that the city's power grid was damaged. As a result, traffic lights are not working. Residents of the Kherson community were also warned that the Administrative Services Center is also not working today.

Local authorities reported that as of 9 a.m. Kyiv time, explosions were heard in Kherson again. The city is under Russian fire.

Russian shelling of Kherson

Kherson is the only regional center that was occupied by Russians at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. The city was liberated in the fall of 2022.

However, the Russian occupiers continue to shell Kherson daily, using artillery, drones, and other weapons.
