As of 06:00 a.m., Kyiv time, January 22, Russia continues to maintain a ship in the Black Sea. The enemy vessel is armed with Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to four missiles, the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

At the same time, no enemy ships are present in the Sea of Azov. However, six Russian vessels have been spotted in the Mediterranean Sea, including two missile carriers with a combined salvo capacity of up to 22 Kalibr missiles.

In addition, over the past day, the Kerch Strait was used by Russian ships in the interests of the aggressor state, as follows:

  • To the Black Sea: 11 vessels, four of which continued moving toward the Bosphorus Strait.
  • To the Sea of Azov: 4 vessels, none of which originated from the Bosphorus Strait.

"The Russian Federation continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) of 1974, disabling automatic identification systems," the Ukrainian Naval Forces stated.

About a week ago, Dmytro Pletenchuk, Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Naval Forces, stated that Russian missile carriers, which have been stationed in the Mediterranean Sea for several years, show no signs of active use.

According to Pletenchuk, the presence of these vessels in the region demonstrates constant operational presence rather than preparation for combat actions.
