For three months in a row, Russia has been losing more soldiers on the battlefield than it manages to replenish with recruits, says Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, following a meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces, General Michael Claesson.

Syrskyi: The Kremlin will not stop

“At present, the Kremlin has no intention of halting offensive actions, although it is suffering significant losses on the battlefield, which for three months in a row have exceeded the replenishment of the Russian army,” Syrskyi said.

During the meeting, he informed the Swedish general about the situation along the 1,200 km front line and the needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for weapons and equipment.

As Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously stated, despite mobilizing 40,000–43,000 people every month, Russia loses up to 45,000 due to desertions, injuries, and drone strikes.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces recently disrupted Russia’s plans in the south. Russia is suffering heavy losses on the battlefield but is not abandoning its plans.

Meanwhile, Zelenskyy notes that the war must end as soon as possible. But much depends on Russia’s own will.
