Russian losses in the war against Ukraine during the first five months of 2025 have exceeded 190,000 personnel. In total, Russia has already lost 986,000 soldiers, according to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, on Telegram.

As noted by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Russian forces have already lost 194,140 personnel since the beginning of the year.

"The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue their effective combat operations, destroying the enemy. I thank our defenders, both men and women, for their daily fight and for defending the freedom and independence of our country," Syrskyi added.

Russia’s losses since the beginning of the year are equivalent to the population of large Russian cities such as Pskov, Engels, Biysk, and others.

As of May 30, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has lost over 986,000 soldiers and tens of thousands of pieces of equipment.

According to calculations by Russian opposition media, 27 soldiers died for every kilometer of territory captured by Russia in 2024.
