On the night of March 28, Russian forces launched over 60 strike drones at Odesa. There are casualties and injuries, as well as significant damage, according to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"In the early hours of today, the Russians carried out a massive strike on Odesa. There is no military purpose at all — this is purely terror against ordinary civilian life. There were more than 60 strike drones in this attack on the city. Unfortunately, there is a lot of damage," Zelenskyy wrote.

Among the affected sites are a maternity hospital, residential buildings, enterprises, and port and critical infrastructure. Emergency services continue to work and provide assistance where needed.

"Unfortunately, as of now, it is known that one person was killed (later reports confirmed two fatalities). My condolences to their families and loved ones. More than ten people were injured, including a child," the president added.

There were also strikes tonight in Poltava and Dnipropetrovsk regions.

Zelenskyy emphasized that each such strike proves that Russia does not want to end the war. Therefore, any easing of pressure on it is dangerous.

According to the head of state, coordinated efforts to protect people and lives will support Ukraine's defense and diplomacy.

"Thank you to all our partners who work with us and support our people. We are working with everyone to give our country more strength and more opportunities to protect life in Ukraine every day and every night — our cities and villages, our infrastructure. Joint protection and coordinated actions can work best," the president added.

Night strike on Odesa

Recall that on the night of March 28, Russia again struck Odesa. Using drones, the enemy attacked the city's civilian infrastructure. There are casualties and injuries, including a child.

In the Prymorskyi district, a strike hit the roof of a maternity hospital.

According to preliminary data, staff and patients managed to descend into the shelter, which helped avoid more severe consequences and fatalities.

As a result of the attack, the ceiling between the fourth and fifth floors of a multi-story building was partially destroyed. The blast wave shattered windows in residential buildings in various parts of the district, causing additional damage.

Additionally, fires broke out in private homes.
