On the night of February 25, Russia launched an attack on Ukraine with more than 210 UAVs. The enemy also fired seven cruise missiles, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

During the strike, Russian troops launched:

  • 213 Shahed-type strike drones and imitator drones from the Russian cities of Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, and Primorsko-Akhtrask;
  • seven Kh-101 cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers.

The following forces repelled the enemy attack:

  • aviation;
  • anti-aircraft missile forces;
  • electronic warfare units;
  • mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 11 a.m. Kyiv time, the following targets were shot down:

  • Six Kh-101 cruise missiles;
  • 133 strike drones across the Kyiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, and several other regions;
  • 79 imitator drones were lost locally without causing any negative consequences.

As a result of the attack, the Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions were affected.

Russian shelling of Ukraine

Almost every night, Russian terrorists carry out mass drone attacks. For example, on the night of February 24, Russian troops launched 185 drones from five different directions.

On the same night, Ukraine's air defense worked in the Kyiv region. Before this, an air raid alert was declared in several regions. Due to the attack, there were damages and casualties in the Zhytomyr region.
