Russia launched over 100 drones and Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Ukraine on the night of February 5, targeting five regions, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports.

In particular, during the night, Russian troops launched:

  • 104 Shahed-type strike drones and decoy drones from the directions of Russian cities: Oryol, Kursk, Bryansk, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk;
  • Two Iskander-M ballistic missiles.

The following units repelled the air attack:

  • Aviation;
  • Anti-aircraft missile forces;
  • Electronic warfare forces;
  • Mobile fire groups of the Air Forces and the Defense Forces of Ukraine

As of 9 a.m. Kyiv time, it was confirmed that 57 drones were shot down in the Kyiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Cherkasy, and several other regions.

Another 42 UAVs were lost locally without negative consequences.

Due to the attack, the following regions were affected:

  • Kyiv region;
  • Kirovohrad region;
  • Sumy region;
  • Kharkiv region;
  • Donetsk region.

Russian shelling of Ukraine

Since the start of the full-scale war, Russia has regularly targeted Ukraine's civilian and critical infrastructure, using drones, missiles, guided aerial bombs, and artillery. The enemy launch UAVs almost every night. For example, on the night of February 4, the Russians launched 65 strike drones and other types of UAVs at Ukraine.
