Russia launches nearly 30 drones at Ukraine. How many intercepted by air defense
Russian troops launched 27 kamikaze drones against Ukraine during the night of July 6. The air defense systems shot down all but three of them, reports Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.
"On the night of July 6, the enemy struck with 27 Shahed-131/136 drones from Crimea and the Kursk region," he said.
To repel the air attack mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, Ground Forces air defense, and electronic warfare units were involved.
"Tonight, our sky defenders managed to hit 24 Shaheds," added Oleshchuk.
They were shot down in the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Kharkiv, Donetsk, Sumy, Chernihiv, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Kirovohrad, and Mykolaiv regions.

After midnight, an air raid alert was announced in Ukraine. Explosions were heard in Sumy. The Air Force warned of the threat of kamikaze drone attacks.
By morning, it became known that during the night of July 6, due to the Russian attack, settlements in several districts of the Sumy region were left without power.
