Russia launches massive strike on Sumy region: three dead, including child

Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on a village in the Sumy region during the night of June 24. The strike killed three people, including a child, according to Sumy regional administration head Oleh Hryhorov.
Around midnight, Russian forces launched a massive drone attack on a village in the Verkhnosyrovatka community. Three people were killed: a man, a woman, and an eight-year-old boy. The child’s body was recovered from the rubble of a destroyed house.
"The strike took the lives of people from different families. They all lived on the same street. They went to bed in their homes, but Russian drones interrupted their sleep forever," said the head of the regional administration.
Three more people were pulled from the debris. One of them is in critical condition. All the injured have been hospitalized.
"Homes were destroyed and damaged. A fire broke out following the strikes. Rescuers, medics, and all emergency services are working on the site. People are receiving the necessary assistance," the Sumy regional administration added.
Russian forces also launched a massive drone attack on Kharkiv during the night of June 24. According to the city’s mayor, at least seven Shahed drones were launched.
One Russian drone fell without detonating. The rest struck three locations, two in the private sector of the Nemyshlianskyi district. A civilian facility in the Saltivskyi district was also damaged.
