Russia launches fierce assaults on Ukraine’s Kharkiv-Sumy borderline

Ukrainian border guards are recording an increase in attacks from Russia in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions, but Russia is still not using armored vehicles, according to Andrii Demchenko, spokesperson for the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
Russian troops continue to attempt to break through the Ukrainian border, particularly in the Kharkiv and Sumy regions.
According to him, Russia is actively using aviation to strike border areas, but is not risking the use of heavy armored vehicles.
The situation remains most tense in the Vovchansk direction and the area of the village of Stroivka in the Kharkiv region.
"Russia continues to try to advance deeper into Ukraine, using infantry groups," Demchenko says.
He stresses that the Russian army avoids using armored vehicles in both the Kharkiv and Sumy directions, realizing the high risks of their destruction.
Also, according to him, it is possible that there is not enough equipment, or it is being saved for other operations.
"There are currently no assaults using columns of armored vehicles along the border," the spokesperson adds.
The situation remains tense. The Armed Forces of Ukraine and border units continue to hold their defenses.
