Russia launches drones from two fronts overnight: How Ukraine's air defenses held up

Over July 12–13, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 60 drones, mostly Shahed strike UAVs, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
The Air Force reported that the attacks came from the directions of Kursk and Millerovo. More than 40 of them were specifically Shaheds.
During the day, the enemy focused its strikes on the rear regions of Ukraine, launching more than 20 such UAVs.
At night, the attacks were directed at the frontline areas of Donetsk, Sumy, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
The aerial assault was repelled by all units of the Defense Forces—aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups.
According to operational data as of 9:00 a.m. on July 13, air defense shot down 20 enemy Shahed drones. Another 20 decoy drones were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare systems.
Point strikes of drones were recorded in five locations, and details of the damage are being clarified.
Russian attack on Ukraine
Since the beginning of the full-scale war, Russian terrorists have regularly attacked the territory of Ukraine. For the attacks, the enemy uses:
-
various types of missiles;
-
artillery;
-
guided aerial bombs (KABs);
-
drones.
The Russians resort to drone attacks almost every night, which creates an additional threat to ordinary civilians. For example, yesterday the enemy launched 623 airstrike assets, including 339 Shahed strike drones and 26 Kh-101 cruise missiles.
