Russia launches drones from six directions, with hits reported: How air defense responded

Russia launched 165 attack drones at Ukraine overnight on September 28, 79 of which were jet-powered, according to Ukrainian Air Force.
Russian forces launched 165 Shahed-type attack drones, Gerbera drones and Parodiya-type decoy drones. Of these, 79 were jet-powered. The attack began at 6:00 p.m. on September 27.
The drones were launched from Oryol, Millerovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Shatalovo in Russia. Others were launched from the occupied part of Donetsk region and from occupied Crimea, near Hvardiiske.
According to preliminary data, as of 7:00 a.m., air defense had shot down or suppressed 112 enemy drones. These included Shahed-type drones, Gerbera drones and other types of unmanned aerial vehicles.
Hits by enemy drones were recorded at 14 locations. Debris from downed targets fell at seven other locations.
The attack is ongoing, with several enemy drones still in Ukrainian airspace.
As a reminder, on the evening of September 27, an attack drone struck the grounds of the Stolichnyi market in Sofiivska Borshchahivka, Kyiv region.
Two people were reported killed and around 10 injured.
Meanwhile, overnight, Russian forces struck two districts of Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs. More than 20 people were injured in the Saltivskyi district, including eight children.
