Russia launches drone attack on Ukraine: All targets destroyed by Ukrainian air defense
Russian troops attacked Ukraine again on Thursday, April 18, launching kamikaze drones. Ukrainian air defense systems shot down all Russian targets, according to Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk.
According to him, on the night of April 18, the enemy attacked with 13 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Russia) and Cape Chauda (Crimea).
"All 13 Shaheds were shot down by anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces," the general notes.
He adds that the Russian targets were shot down in the Kherson, Dnipro, Vinnytsia, Poltava, Khmelnytskyi, Ternopil, and Ivano-Frankivsk regions.
Shelling of Ukraine
Russian troops fired at Ukraine using Shahed-type kamikaze drones on Thursday, April 18. According to the military, the drones entered Ukraine in several waves three hours apart, with the main impact directed at the central and western regions.
In particular, in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, the Russians tried to attack energy facilities. There were fires caused by falling debris. But people were not injured.
