On the night of October 23, Russia launched 82 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and a guided air-to-surface missile Kh-31P against Ukraine. The air defense managed to destroy 57 drones, reports the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

According to the Air Force, on the night of October 23, the enemy launched:

  • 81 Shahed-type drones and UAVs of unspecified types, which were launched from Russian Primorsko-Akhtarsk and Kursk;
  • a guided air-to-surface missile Kh-31P from the Black Sea.

The missile was used to attack the Odesa region.

The following were involved in repelling the airstrike:

  • aviation;
  • anti-aircraft missile troops;
  • electronic warfare units;
  • mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 09:00 AM Kyiv time, the destruction of 57 drones has been confirmed in Odesa, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Sumy, Cherkasy, and several other regions. In particular:

  • 15 drones are currently reported as lost in location;
  • up to 9 UAVs are observed in the airspace of Ukraine.

Shelling of Ukraine

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, regular terrorist shelling of Ukrainian territory has become common. Russian forces use missiles, guided aerial bombs (KABs), and drones. Currently, terrorists actively use drones, launching them almost every night.

For example, on the night of October 22, Russia attacked Ukraine with 60 drones. As a result, 42 UAVs were destroyed.
