Russia launched 60 drones at Ukraine overnight: Air defense operation report
On the night of October 22, Russian forces launched an attack on Ukraine using Shahed-type kamikaze drones and other UAVs. A total of 60 enemy drones were detected in Ukrainian airspace, having been launched from Russian territory, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Ukraine's defense against the attack involved aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Force and Defense Forces.
Thanks to the effective work of these units, 42 enemy drones were shot down over the Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv, Kherson, and Kharkiv regions.
The highest number of drones were downed in Sumy, but unfortunately, there were civilian casualties.
Additionally, 10 Russian drones were lost from radar — one flew into Belarus, three returned to Russian territory, and one remains in Ukrainian airspace.

During the night of October 22, Russian occupiers launched another attack on Ukraine, using ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones.
A powerful explosions were heard amid a widespread air raid alert in Sumy. Enemy missiles struck residential areas, causing significant destruction. The attack claimed the lives of three civilians.
