Russia launched 79 drones at Ukraine on the night of March 2. Air defense forces were active in 13 regions, according to the Ukrainian Air Force on Telegram.

The drones were launched from four directions in Russia – Orel, Bryansk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. The attack was repelled by anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Air defense forces destroyed 63 strike drones and imitation drones. Another 16 enemy imitation drones were lost in specific locations (without negative consequences).

Air defense operated in the regions of Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Kirovograd, Zhytomyr, Vinnytsia, Khmelnytskyi, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv.

Consequences of the Russian attack

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, as a result of the enemy's attack, the Kharkiv, Sumy, Khmelnytskyi, and Zaporizhzhia regions were affected.

It is known that during the night, air defense worked in Kyiv, and local residents heard explosions.

Also, on the evening of March 1, the Russians attacked Zaporizhzhia, causing a fire in a residential building. A woman was injured.
