On the night of February 2, Russia launched 55 drones into Ukraine. Air defense was operating in 10 regions of Ukraine, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The Russians launched drones from three directions - Kursk, Oryol, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk. The attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

As of 9:00 a.m. Kyiv time, air defense forces destroyed 40 Russian drones. Another 13 enemy imitator drones were lost in the area (without negative consequences).

Air defense was operating in the Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy, Dnipro, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Odesa regions.

Consequences of the night attack

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the Kharkiv and Sumy regions suffered in the Russian attack.

Russians attacked Kharkiv and hit a plant. The attack resulted in a large-scale fire. Russian drone also attacked a house in Liubotyn, Kharkiv region. A man and a woman were injured in the attack and suffered burns.

In the Sumy region, a nighttime drone attack damaged apartment buildings, private homes, and cars.
