Russia keeps one missile carrier in Black Sea - Ukrainian Navy
As of the morning of August 12, Russia maintains a single ship in the Black Sea, armed with Kalibr cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to four missiles, according to the Ukrainian Navy.
Meanwhile, as of 6:00 AM, there are no enemy ships in the Sea of Azov.
However, as was the case yesterday, two enemy vessels remain in the Mediterranean Sea. One is armed with Kalibr cruise missiles with a total salvo capacity of up to four missiles.
Additionally, the military reported that, within the past 24 hours, in Russia’s interests, the following transit took place through the Kerch Strait:
- 10 ships entered the Black Sea, 6 of which continued towards the Bosporus Strait;
- 11 ships entered the Sea of Azov, 4 of which came from the Bosporus Strait.
The Ukrainian Navy added that Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) of 1974 by disabling automatic identification systems (AIS).
On August 2, Ukraine's Defense Forces attacked and sank the Russian submarine Rostov-on-Don. The vessel went down in the temporarily occupied Sevastopol.
According to analysts at Defence Express, the destruction of the Rostov-on-Don indicates Russia's inability to repair its submarines in the Black Sea.
