Russia has initiated forced mobilization of the local population in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia region, according to Ivan Fedorov, the Mayor of Melitopol.

He stated that the occupiers are compelling local residents to sign contracts with the enemy's army.

"Mobilization in the temporarily occupied territories of the Zaporizhizha region has begun. All enterprises have military records, and they are forcing our residents to sign contracts," Fedorov said.

Currently, Russians are organizing recruitment for contract service in Melitopol, Berdiansk, and other temporarily occupied settlements in the Zaporizhizha region, including Yakymivka, Tokmak, Prymorsk, and Pryazovske.

He also mentioned that the occupation authorities are sending SMS messages inviting people to join the forces of the aggressor country.

The occupiers are conducting mobilization

Recently, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine stated that during the new wave of mobilization, Russia intends to call up from 400,000 to 700,000 people. This mobilization will also affect Chechnya and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Additionally, the publication "Important Stories" previously reported that mobilized Russians die in the war in Ukraine on average within four to five months after receiving a draft notice, and every fifth occupant does not survive for more than two months.
