Russia increased the number of missile carriers in the Black Sea on the morning of January 14. The threat of strikes on Ukraine continues, the Ukrainian Navy reports.

As of 06:00 a.m, Kyiv time, eight enemy ships were recorded in the Black Sea, four of which are carriers of Kalibr-type cruise missiles, with a total salvo capacity of up to 28 units.

Meanwhile, there are no enemy vessels in the Sea of Azov. However, there are seven ships in the Mediterranean Sea, two of which are missile carriers with a total salvo capacity of up to 22 Kalibrs.

In addition, within the past 24 hours, vessels serving the interests of the aggressor state, Russia, passed through the Kerch Strait.

  • To the Black Sea – 4 vessels, 2 of which continued towards the Bosphorus Strait;
  • To the Sea of Azov – 5 vessels, 3 of which moved from the Bosphorus Strait.

In December and early January, Russian ships carrying Kalibr missiles were relatively rare in the Black Sea. On the eve of the New Year, Dmytro Pletenchuk, Spokesman of the Ukrainian Navy, explained why the Russians reduced the use of their ships.

According to Pletenchuk, Russia was forced to shift the main functions of the Black Sea fleet to aviation due to significant losses caused by Ukrainian attacks.
