Two Russian ships carrying Kalibr cruise missiles have been spotted in the Black Sea this morning, April 23. Just a day earlier, only one such vessel was present in the area, according to the Ukrainian Naval Forces.

As of 06:00 AM Kyiv time, two Russian missile carriers have been observed in the Black Sea, capable of launching up to 12 Kalibr cruise missiles.

Meanwhile, no Russian vessels have been spotted in the Sea of Azov.

Additionally, the Ukrainian Navy reported that in the Mediterranean Sea, three Russian ships have been detected, two of which are carrying Kalibr missiles, with a total salvo of up to 12 cruise missiles.

The military command also added that over the past 24 hours, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait in Russia's interest:

  • To the Black Sea: 4 ships, 3 of which continued towards the Bosporus Strait.

  • To the Sea of Azov: 5 ships, 3 of which continued towards the Bosporus Strait.

The Ukrainian Navy also reported that the Russian side continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling automatic identification systems.

Over the past few days, only one Russian missile carrier, armed with six Kalibrs, has been detected in the Black Sea each morning.

The last time Russian forces launched Kalibr missiles towards Ukraine was on April 6. The targets of the Russian attack were Kyiv and the surrounding region, as well as southern areas of Ukraine.
