Russia has introduced a ten-day curfew and strict movement restrictions in two border districts adjacent to Estonia, according to ERR.
The temporary bans are in effect in the five-kilometer border zone of the Kingisepp and Slantsy districts. In particular, south of the Narva Reservoir, people have been prohibited from moving on the river by boat and from staying on the banks of the Narva River.
During nighttime hours, being outside populated areas, including in vehicles, is prohibited. Hunting has also been completely banned in the border strip. The official reason given for the restrictions in Russia is strengthening state border protection.
Estonian Minister of Foreign Affairs Igor Taro emphasized that the Russians' actions do not pose a direct threat to his country, so Tallinn will not take retaliatory measures.
The diplomat stated that the threat assessment had not changed. He acknowledged that there had been various speculations about a possible general mobilization and that there was an assessment that Russia was in a difficult situation.
At the same time, despite the Russian restrictions imposed, one person still managed to illegally cross the border from the Russian side. The violator was immediately detained by Estonian law enforcement officers.
European countries will discuss a coordinated response to cases of human casualties resulting from Russia's hybrid attacks.
French Minister of the Interior Laurent Nuñez stated that the EU is facing a real and documented hybrid threat from Russia. He also spoke about incidents that cause the most concern.
Furthermore, EU countries have already warned about possible hybrid actions by Russia. In particular, Poland stated that Russian special services have been activated against infrastructure that provides support for Ukraine.
