Russia hits Ukraine with missiles and drones, strikes reported at five sites

On the night of December 30, Russian troops carried out a combined attack on Ukrainian territory, using ballistic missiles and dozens of strike drones, according to the Air Force.
Starting at 6 pm on December 29, the enemy launched two Iskander-M ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea and the Voronezh region of Russia. The Russians attacked with 60 Shahed and Gerbera strike drones, as well as other types of drones.
The launches were carried out from the directions of Oryol, Bryansk, Kursk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Hvardiiske and Chauda in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea. About 40 drones were Shaheds.
The air attack was repelled by the Ukrainian Air Force, anti-aircraft missile forces, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
As of 9:00 am, air defense forces shot down or suppressed one ballistic missile and 52 enemy drones in the north, south, and east of the country. One ballistic missile and eight strike drones were recorded hitting five locations.

Last night, Russian troops struck Zaporizhzhia, damaging infrastructure and residential areas. Emergency services continue to work on site.
The Russian attack damaged an important energy facility in the Chernihiv region. Due to the lack of power in the electrical grid caused by enemy strikes, Ukrzaliznytsia temporarily restricted the movement of some suburban trains.
