A new attack by Russian forces has been recorded in Zaporizhzhia. The strike damaged infrastructure facilities and residential areas, with emergency services continuing to operate at the scene, according to the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

Russian forces struck Zaporizhzhia overnight on December 30, damaging an industrial infrastructure facility. The attack occurred during an air raid alert, which remained in effect at the time of publication. Residents were urged to stay in shelters until the official all-clear.

Consequences of strike

The blast wave damaged nearby private homes. Destruction has been recorded in residential areas, and the extent of the damage is being assessed. Specialized services are working on site, inspecting the area, and documenting the consequences of the attack.

Official sources warned of the air threat and urged residents to remain in shelters. Earlier, at least one powerful explosion had already been heard in the city, according to local correspondents.

Overnight on December 29, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with strike drones launched from multiple directions. Air defence forces intercepted most of the targets, though some impacts could not be avoided.
