Russian forces launched 11 Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 164 drones of various types at Ukraine overnight. Multiple hits and falling debris from downed targets were recorded, reports the Ukrainian Air Force.

As noted, the attack began as early as 18:00 on May 4.

The enemy launched 11 Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Ukraine from Rostov, Voronezh, and Bryansk regions, as well as 164 strike unmanned aerial vehicles of various types — Shahed (including jet-powered), Gerbera, Italmass, and Parodiya decoy drones.

Drone launches were carried out from directions of Bryansk, Kursk, Shatalovo, Oryol, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, and Millerovo (Russia), as well as Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea).

Air attack was repelled by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units, unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

According to preliminary data as of 09:00, air defense shot down or suppressed 1 ballistic missile and 149 enemy drones in the north, south, east, and center of the country.

"Hits of 8 ballistic missiles and 14 strike unmanned aerial vehicles were recorded at 14 locations, as well as falling debris from downed targets at 10 locations," the statement says.

It is also noted that two ballistic missiles did not reach their targets. Information is being clarified.

Attack continues, enemy drones remain in the airspace. Ukrainians are urged to follow safety rules.

Attack on Ukraine on May 5

Russian forces carried out another air attack on the territory of Ukraine overnight, using missiles and strike drones across various regions.

Poltava, Kyiv, Chernihiv, Cherkasy regions, as well as Zaporizhzhia and Dnipro came under strikes.

The most difficult situation is in the Poltava region. As a result of a combined missile and drone attack, direct hits and falling debris were recorded in the Poltava district. As of this morning, 4 people are known to have been killed and 31 injured.

In addition, the infrastructure of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian state railway company) came under attack in three regions.

In the Kharkiv region, a drone destroyed a railcar; no casualties reported. In the Poltava region, a drone hit near the tracks next to a locomotive, a railcar was damaged, and fire broke out.

A strike was also recorded in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where an electric locomotive was damaged.
