Russia hits Ukraine's Sumy railway station: Photos of aftermath revealed

According to him, after the massive Russian attack on the Sumy community, railway infrastructure was damaged, including the passenger depot, ticket offices, and station equipment.

Ticket offices are temporarily out of service, but long-distance train tickets can be purchased online via official Ukrzaliznytsia services. For suburban routes, tickets are available directly from conductors. Trains are operating on schedule.

Specialists from Ukrzaliznytsia from various regions are also involved in restoring the station and ensuring stable operations.

"Our railway workers are strong and responsible. Despite everything, they continue working for the people. Thank you for your work," Hryhorov emphasized.

Russian attack on railway infrastructure

Russian forces attacked railway infrastructure in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions on the night of October 31. The strikes damaged train cars and depots.

In Sumy, the Ukrzaliznytsia depot was damaged. This depot manages daily connections to Sumy and the surrounding region, preparing train cars for service and conducting technical inspections.

A massive strike by Shahed drones destroyed most of the depot’s workspaces and damaged the Sumy-Kyiv train storage. Staff had been moved to shelters in advance, so no one was injured.

In the Kharkiv region, railway infrastructure in Lozova was also damaged.
