Russia hits Okhtyrka with drones: Apartment building damaged, casualties reported

Russian forces struck the Okhtyrka community in the Sumy region with three attack drones, hitting a multi-story building. So far, five people have been reported injured and are in the hospital, according to Oleh Hryhorov, head of the Sumy Regional Military Administration.
"Russia attacked the Okhtyrka community this night with three attack UAVs. They hit a multi-story building. There are casualties: preliminarily, five civilians are in the hospital receiving necessary medical care," Hryhorov said.
He added that information about the condition of the victims and the extent of the damage is being clarified. Emergency rescue operations and recovery work following the attack are ongoing.
“The enemy deliberately struck civilian infrastructure. Cynical and vile. Once again, while people were sleeping in their homes,” the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported.
It is known that the threat of further enemy strikes in the region remains.

The number of injured has risen to seven, the Sumy Regional Military Administration reported.
There is also information regarding the multi-story building that was hit.
“The building sustained extensive damage. Some residents, hearing the threat, managed to go down to the basement, while others were rescued from the damaged floors,” the statement said.

The Russian army recently targeted the energy infrastructure of the Sumy region. As a result of the shelling, some residents were left without water and electricity.
According to the Private JSC NEK Ukrenergo, the Sumy region is among the areas with the most severe electricity shortages. Russian forces are attacking this region not only with missiles and Shahed drones but also with other means of destruction.
