Russian forces carried out a massive drone attack on Kyiv overnight on October 26. The strike resulted in casualties, injuries, and significant damage from enemy shelling, according to the Telegram channels of the State Emergency Service (SES) of Ukraine and Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko.

Emergency services confirmed that the aftermath of the attack was recorded in two districts of the capital – Desnianskyi and Obolonskyi.

Desnianskyi district

At present, emergency crews continue to eliminate the consequences of the Russian attack at several locations where fires broke out.

"At one of the sites, a drone strike caused a fire in a nine-story residential building, and 13 people were rescued from the upper floors. At another address, a drone hit a sixteen-story building, shattering windows from the first to the ninth floor," the SES said in a statement.

Meanwhile, the mayor of Kyiv reported that debris hit a nine-story building at the level of the second floor. Several apartments caught fire, and the flames spread to balconies between the fourth and seventh floors.

"The fire has already been extinguished. Work to dismantle the damaged structures continues," Klitschko added.

He also reported damage to windows and doors in apartments in another nine-story building.

"The facade and floors between the sixth and eighth stories were partially damaged. Five people were rescued. Dismantling of structures continues," the mayor wrote.

Obolonskyi district

The SES reported receiving information about a drone strike on a high-rise building in the Obolonskyi district of the capital. No fire was detected at the scene. However, Klitschko provided additional details.

"Debris from a drone fell on a sixteen-story residential building. One apartment was damaged. There were no fires or structural destruction," he wrote.
