Russia hits Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia with ballistic missiles, blasts reported

The Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and Zaporizhzhia with ballistic missiles overnight on April 3. A series of powerful explosions occurred in the city as a result of the Russian attack, according to Telegram posts by the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, and the channel of the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov.
Kharkiv
"Powerful explosions occurred in Kharkiv. According to preliminary reports, the enemy launched missile strikes. More detailed information is being clarified," Syniehubov reported at 03:59 Kyiv time.
Meanwhile, the city's mayor, Ihor Terekhov, wrote that the occupiers carried out three strikes. All of them were in the Kyivskyi district. However, later Syniehubov clarified that there were 4 strikes.
Zaporizhzhia
After the strikes on Kharkiv, explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia. At the same time, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that missiles were heading toward the city.
Dnipropetrovsk region
Social media reported that Pavlohrad in the Dnipropetrovsk region also came under attack. A high-speed target was detected over the region, and later a missile flew directly toward the city.
Attacks on Ukrainian cities
The Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with drones for more than 24 hours straight from the night of April 1–2. About 20 strikes were recorded in the city. In particular, following the evening attack, a building in the city center caught fire. It later turned out to be a hotel.
Zaporizhzhia came under attack on the evening of April 2. As a result, a multi-story building and a municipal enterprise were damaged by the blast wave.
