Russian forces attacked coal enterprises in Ukraine's Donetsk region. Guided aerial bombs were launched at them, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine reported.
"As a result of five airstrikes with guided aerial bombs in the Donetsk region, facilities of coal industry enterprises were damaged," the ministry said in its statement.
The Ministry of Energy clarified that a boiler house, administrative and warehouse buildings were damaged. The enterprises are currently not operating.
There were no casualties or fatalities as a result of the Russian strikes.
"Russian terror does not stop. We are holding talks with partners regarding strengthening air defense and equipment for the rapid restoration of energy infrastructure," said Energy Minister Svitlana Grynchuk.
Russian attacks
Russian forces continue to focus their strikes on Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
In particular, on October 20, they struck a coal enrichment plant owned by the Ukrainian energy company DTEK, located in the Dnipropetrovsk region.
On September 8, Russian forces also targeted a DTEK enrichment facility in the Donetsk region. Its operations were suspended after the attack.
In this way, Russia is doing everything to make the heating season more difficult for Ukraine.
Since early September, Russian forces have been carrying out massive strikes on energy facilities, forcing energy providers to introduce power supply restrictions for households and industry.
