Russian forces launched a massive attack on Konotop in the Sumy region overnight on September 18. As a result of the enemy strike, there is extensive damage in the city, and there are even disruptions to gas and electricity supply, according to the Telegram channel of Konotop Mayor Artem Semenikhin.

According to him, as a result of the drone attack, objects of social and critical infrastructure in the city were damaged.

Among the damaged facilities were educational institutions (a kindergarten and School No. 11), medical facilities, transport infrastructure, railways, and many private houses.

Furthermore, the gas transmission network came under enemy attack, leaving part of the city without gas. At the same time, there are power outages, as wires were damaged at impact sites.

"Many small private businesses have been damaged," the mayor added.

According to the latest data, there are two casualties in Konotop - women born in 1965 and 1991.

Other strikes

On the night of August 25, Russians also attacked Konotop. As a result of the attack, an agricultural enterprise and a railway track were destroyed, dozens of buildings were damaged, and part of the city was left without communication.

On the night of August 24, the city was also hit with a massive strike. Due to the attack, a large part of the city was left without electricity, and a vehicle fleet was destroyed.
