Russia fired over 900 missiles, 400 drones at Ukraine this week - Zelenskyy
Over the past seven days, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine using KAB bombs and drones. During the last week, the occupiers deployed over 900 aerial bombs and around 400 UAVs, according to the Telegram post of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"Throughout the week, the enemy deployed over 900 guided aerial bombs, around 400 Shaheds, and nearly 30 missiles of various types," Zelenskyy stated.
According to the president, Ukraine needs to strengthen its defense capabilities to better protect lives and ensure security.
"Ukraine requires full long-range capabilities. We are convincing our partners and will continue discussions next week," the head of state added.
Kharkiv shelling
On the night of September 22, Russian forces struck Kharkiv with aerial bombs, targeting a residential apartment building.
Zelenskyy reported that 21 people were injured, including an 8-year-old child and two 17-year-old teenagers.
"Sixty residents of the building have been evacuated, and all are receiving the necessary assistance," the president confirmed.
Notably, compared to the previous week, the occupiers increased the use of KABs and drones during attacks on Ukraine. As Zelenskyy mentioned on September 15, Russia deployed over 800 KABs and nearly 300 drones in Ukraine during the second week of September.
