Russia fired 8 missiles and 20 Shahed drones at Ukraine overnight
Russian forces attacked Ukrainian territory with S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles and kamikaze drones overnight on November 30, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
"On the night of November 30, 2023, the adversary launched an attack with 20 Shahed drones from two directions: the occupied Crimea and Primorsko-Akhtarsk of the Russian Federation. Additionally, the occupiers struck Donetsk with eight S-300 surface-to-air guided missiles," the statement from the Ukrainian Air Force said.
It is reported that fighter jets, anti-aircraft missile units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces were engaged in repelling the aerial attack.
As a result of the combat operations, 14 Russian drones were destroyed. The anti-aircraft defense operated in the southern, eastern, and central regions.
Russia intensifies attacks on Ukraine
Russian forces have resumed mass missile and drone attacks on Ukraine in recent weeks. Just last night, on November 29, the Russians launched 21 Shahed-type kamikaze drones and three Kh-59 cruise missiles into Ukrainian territory. All drones and two missiles were successfully intercepted by the air defense forces.
Moreover, on November 28, Russian forces attacked the Khmelnytskyi region with drones. Following the interception by air defense forces, debris from one of the UAVs fell onto the roof of a private house. On the same night, invaders carried out a missile strike on Kryvyi Rih.
The day before, Russian military targeted the residential sector of Nikopol, injuring a woman as a result of the attack.
The spokesperson for the Ukrainian Air Force, Yurii Ihnat, had previously informed that the occupiers would likely increasingly use drones for strikes on Ukraine, not missiles.
