Russian authorities have decided to extend the ban on gasoline exports until the end of October. Notably, this happened amid Ukrainian attacks on refineries, the Russian government reported.

"The government has introduced a new temporary ban on the export of automobile gasoline. The restrictions will be in effect from September 1 to October 31, 2025, inclusive," the Russian government statement said.

It was clarified that from September 1 to 30 the export ban will apply to all exporters. At the same time, from October 1 the restrictions for gasoline producers will be lifted.

The Russian Cabinet explained this decision as "stabilizing the situation in the domestic market."

Ukrainian attacks

A complete ban on gasoline exports has been in effect in Russia since August 1. At the same time, from March 1 to July 31 a partial ban was introduced in Russia.

Such restrictions were imposed by the authorities of the aggressor country against the backdrop of a series of Ukrainian attacks on Russian oil refineries.

Just yesterday, August 26, Reuters reported that during recent attacks by Ukrainian defenders, 10 plants were hit. The strikes disabled at least 17% of Russia's oil refining capacity.

Drone attacks also forced Russia to increase crude oil exports.
