Russia has expelled a British diplomat. This happened after he was accused of espionage, according to The Times.

Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) stated that the British diplomat arrived in Moscow in August to replace one of the six diplomats. Interestingly, these diplomats had also been expelled from Russia, allegedly for espionage.

Russia claims that the unnamed diplomat was allegedly engaged in intelligence and subversive activities that threatened Russia's national security. He was also accused of deliberately providing false information to obtain diplomatic credentials in Russia. The diplomat was given two weeks to leave Russia.

Previously, Russia had restricted the movement of British diplomats in response to hostile actions by the UK. Last year, Russia informed the British Embassy that all diplomats, except for the ambassador, would have to notify authorities about any travel within a 120-kilometer radius of Moscow at least five days in advance.

Russian spies in Western countries

Earlier, we reported that a spy was arrested in Romania, suspected of passing classified information about military aid to Ukraine to Moscow.

Additionally, in Austria, a former officer of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counterterrorism was arrested on suspicion of spying for Russia.
