On the morning of April 15, Russian forces struck the central part of Sloviansk with a FAB-1500 aerial bomb. The attack caused significant destruction and left at least one person injured, according to the head of the Sloviansk City Military Administration, Vadym Liakh.
According to Liakh, the attack occurred at around 5 a.m.
As a result of the strike, a children’s sports facility — a historic landmark of the city — was completely destroyed. One administrative building was also destroyed, and another was damaged.
In addition, at least 39 apartment buildings and 15 vehicles sustained varying degrees of damage.
“At this time, one injured person is known — a 57-year-old man. He is being prepared for transfer to a clinic in Dnipro,” Liakh said.
The administration also released photos showing the devastating aftermath of the attack.
The images show a multi-story residential building with severe damage: shattered windows, destroyed balconies, and heavily damaged facades.
Fires broke out in several apartments — flames can be seen bursting outward, while thick smoke rises above the building. Debris and structural fragments are visible near the site, highlighting the power of the explosion.

Ongoing attacks on Sloviansk
Sloviansk, located close to the front line in Donetsk region, is regularly targeted by Russian strikes using bombs, missiles, and drones.
Recently, Russian forces dropped two FAB-250 bombs on residential areas, damaging more than 20 private homes and injuring civilians, including a 12-year-old girl.
Prior to that, another airstrike on the city center killed four people and injured around 20 others, including children.
