Russia drops FAB-500 bomb on Ukraine's Sloviansk, destroying apartment block

On the morning of Monday, August 31, Russia carried out an airstrike on Sloviansk in the Donetsk region. An entrance section of a multi-story apartment building in the city center was destroyed, and dozens of buildings were damaged, Sloviansk Mayor Vadym Liakh reported.
What is known about the strike on Sloviansk
According to the mayor, the city was struck at 4:20 a.m. with a FAB-500 aerial bomb. It hit a multi-story apartment building in central Sloviansk.
The strike destroyed an entrance section from the first to the fifth floor of the apartment building, as well as a separate private house.
Liakh said that neighboring buildings were also affected by the strike. The following were damaged:

At least 32 multi-story apartment buildings;

A hotel;

A kindergarten;

Several cars.
As of the morning, four people were known to have been injured in the attack. All of them are already receiving medical assistance.
Meanwhile, authorities in Kyiv and the region want to change the approach to issuing danger warnings. They are considering different air raid alerts depending on the type of threat, as well as a possible change to the curfew regime.
The proposals are expected to be presented soon.
Concerns about food shortages had spread amid massive strikes on warehouses in Ukraine.
Presidential adviser Serhii Beskrestnov (call sign Flash) explained that the enemy is targeting large businesses, not food, and urged people not to give in to panic.
The day before, experts also explained why it is difficult for Ukrainian air defense to shoot down jet-powered Shahed drones. According to an expert, the speed of such drones exceeds 400–450 kilometers per hour, so most interceptor drones simply cannot keep up with such a flight speed.
