In the occupied Luhansk region, Russians are dismantling the power systems of mines. The enemy has effectively destroyed the coal mining industry in the occupied territories of Ukraine, reports the National Resistance Center (NRC).

The information resource noted that the occupying authorities in the Luhansk and Donetsk regions almost daily tell stories about the development of mines and investment excitement regarding the coal industry in the region.

However, in practice, the situation is quite different, as investors are only accelerating the decline of the industry.

"While the removal of equipment can still be temporarily hidden behind the facade of supposed anticipated reconstruction, the dismantling of power systems, transformers, and the disconnection of high-voltage lines supplying electricity to the mines speaks to the contrary," the report states.

The NRC specified that these processes are occurring in the settlements of the Luhansk region, namely Novodruzhesk, Pryvillia, and Hirske.

"Russians have effectively killed the coal mining industry in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine," the NRC added.

Currently, most mines are closed and looted. The region is experiencing a shortage of miners, and those who remain have not received their wages for months.
