Russia devised new scheme to issue passports to Ukrainians in occupied territorie - NRC
Russian authorities have devised a new method for issuing passports to the population in occupied territories of Ukraine, according to the National Resistance Center (NRC) website.
It is reported that the region has introduced mandatory mobile fluorography clinics in villages. However, to access this service, one must have a Russian insurance policy and a Russian passport. Thus, the occupiers are effectively using medical services to impose their documentation.
Russian doctors conducting these visits are keeping records of those who have received the service and those who have not attended.
"It is not difficult to assume that over time, additional restrictions will be applied to those who have not undergone fluorography," the report states.
The National Resistance Center (NRC) emphasized that anyone involved in the forced passportization process is committing a crime against the Ukrainian people and will be punished according to the current legislation.
It is also noted that pregnant women in occupied territories are being denied medical care if they do not have a Russian passport, including not being registered.
Additionally, it was reported that from 2025, Russian authorities plan to confiscate vehicles from Ukrainians who do not obtain a Russian passport. Starting next year, all vehicles must be insured with Russian companies, which requires a Russian passport.
