Russia deployed Kalibr carriers to Black and Mediterranean Seas - Ukrainian Navy
Russian forces have deployed a Kalibr missile carrier for combat duty in the Black Sea. A missile carrier from the aggressor country was also spotted in the Mediterranean Sea, according to the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Naval Forces.
The military said that the enemy ship in the Black Sea, in the event of a missile attack, can launch up to four Kalibr missiles in a single salvo.
Meanwhile, no Russian ships were detected in the Sea of Azov as of the morning of September 30.
In the Mediterranean Sea, a Russian ship was identified, capable of launching up to 16 Kalibr cruise missiles in a single salvo.
The Ukrainian Navy also reported that over the past day, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait in Russia's interests:
- To the Black Sea: three vessels, continuing toward the Bosphorus Strait;
- To the Sea of Azov: ten vessels, two of which arrived from the Bosphorus Strait.
Earlier, Ukrainian Navy spokesperson Dmytro Pletenchuk explained why Russia has missile carriers in the Mediterranean. He said that the aggressor country seeks to expand its military presence in other regions, not just in Ukraine.
Additionally, it was reported that after the massive combined attack on Ukraine on August 26-27, during which Russia also used Kalibr missiles from its naval group, enemy vessels have been regularly detected in the Black Sea.
