The company said that the attack killed an employee—Yevhen Volodymyrovych Miroshnychenko—who had worked in the plant's engineering department since 2009.
"The facility that produced life-saving medicines for Ukrainians has been destroyed. One of our key tasks now is to do everything possible to ensure that Ukrainian patients continue to have uninterrupted access to essential medicines," Kusum noted.
The press service said that, in addition to its production facilities in Ukraine, the company has manufacturing sites in India—in Indore and Bhiwadi.
"This will allow us, in the absence of regulatory obstacles, to restructure our processes and work to ensure uninterrupted supplies of medicines to Ukraine," the company said.
Kusum is currently assessing the extent of the destruction. Earlier, a Kusum Ukraine warehouse was destroyed by Russia, but the company continued operating.
"The plant in Sumy has been destroyed. But Kusum continues to work for the people who need our medicines every day," the company said.
As previously reported, Russian attacks destroyed the Parkovyi data center in Kyiv. It has completely ceased operations.
In addition, on September 25, Russian forces targeted a warehouse storing goods for Sushiya, a Japanese restaurant chain in Kyiv. The fire following the strike destroyed the building and all of its inventory.
