Russia damages bridge across Dnipro in Ukraine's Kremenchuk with overnight strike

The Russian forces carried out a drone attack on the Poltava region overnight on September 7. As a result of the strike, a bridge across the Dnipro River in Kremenchuk was damaged, according to the Poltava Regional Military Administration head Volodymyr Kohut and the local outlet Kremenchutska Gazeta.
"Another enemy attack took place this night. In the Poltava region, direct hits and debris falls were recorded," Kohut wrote.
He specified that in the Kremenchuk district, a private house, a car, and one of the enterprises were damaged.
"In addition, in the city of Kremenchuk, the road surface of the bridge across the Dnipro River was damaged. Traffic across the crossing has been temporarily suspended," the head of the Regional Military Administration reported.
Moreover, in the Poltava district, drone debris damaged an administrative building of one of the municipal enterprises.
Kohut added that emergency services are currently working to eliminate the consequences, and the night passed without casualties.
Meanwhile, Kremenchutska Gazeta reports that from 01:00 AM to 04:00 AM Kyiv time, about 40 explosions were heard in Kremenchuk. The loudest were in the city center. In addition, after the explosions, some districts experienced power and internet outages.
According to the city’s mayor, Vitalii Maletskyi, the bridge is under the jurisdiction of Ukrzaliznytsia (Ukrainian railways company - ed.).
"We are now awaiting expert conclusions on the extent of the damage and the possibility of its further operation," he noted.
Maletskyi stated that traffic on the bridge is currently impossible as it has been closed. During the closure, all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the functioning of the city on both banks.
Operational protocols have already been developed for the medical sector, emergency services, maternity hospitals, rapid response units, and municipal enterprises.
