Russia complains about drone attacks on airfield, warehouse and oil depot
On March 6, Russia reported drone attacks in three regions simultaneously, targeting an airfield, a warehouse, and an oil depot, according to Telegram channels Baza, 112, and Russian media.
Updated. Allegedly, the UAV has once again struck the Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant named after A.V. Varichev in Zheleznogorsk, Kursk region.
"Emergency services are working on-site. There is no information about casualties," states the Telegram channel 112.
Voronezh region
Baza reported that a Ukrainian drone attempted to strike the military airfield Baltimor in Voronezh.
"The UAV was shot down by air defense systems a couple of kilometers from the airfield," the report said. Additionally, two drones allegedly targeted an oil depot in the Anninsky municipal district of the region. "The first attack occurred at 7 AM, followed by another one an hour later. Debris from one of them fell into a reservoir, while the other crashed on the territory of the oil depot," Baza added.
Kursk region
In the Kursk Region, a drone targeted the Mikhailovsky Mining and Processing Plant named after A.V. Varichev in Zheleznogorsk. "The drone hit a fuel tank on the premises of the plant, and firefighters are currently trying to extinguish the blaze," reported Telegram channel 112.
Belgorod region
Air defense systems purportedly shot down a Ukrainian drone near the village of Blizhneye in the Belgorod Region.
Drone attacks in Russia
Over recent months, Russia has witnessed a surge in wildfires and drone attacks, occurring frequently in Moscow and other regions. Incidents have escalated at ports, military facilities, factories, and oil depots.
An explosion rocked the Belgorod region on March 5, originating from an oil depot. RBC-Ukraine's sources within the security services indicated that the attack on the oil depot in the Belgorod region was orchestrated by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to the informant, the strikes were carried out by drones of Ukrainian manufacturers.
In February 2024, a fire broke out at the MiG factory in Moscow, responsible for the comprehensive servicing - from design to repair - of the eponymous Kinzhal fighter jets involved in attacks against Ukraine.
