Russia can attack Ukraine's infrastructure with Iranian Fatex-360 missiles - ISW
Iran has recently supplied Russia with over 200 Fateh-360 missiles, which are likely to be used by Russia for strikes on Ukraine’s infrastructure, according to a report from the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts also referenced a September 6 article from The Times, which, citing a source within Ukrainian military intelligence, reported that on September 4, a Russian vessel delivered Fateh-360 missiles to an undisclosed port in the Caspian Sea.
In response, recent confirmations from US and European officials have indicated that Iran has begun supplying Russia with short-range ballistic missiles, such as the Fateh-360.
According to ISW estimates, Russia is likely to use these missiles to target Ukraine's energy, military, and civilian infrastructure, with such attacks expected to continue throughout this fall and into the coming winter.
Ukraine's reaction
Amid the potential missile transfer to Russia, Ukraine has warned Iran of devastating consequences for their bilateral relations.
"Once again, we call on the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran to refrain from supplying any types of weapons and military equipment to Russia, which is an aggressor state under the UN Charter and international law," stated the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on September 7.
Additionally, Ukraine has called on the international community to increase pressure on Tehran and Moscow to protect global peace and security.
