Kupiansk
At the end of December, the Ukrainian military completely cleared the bridgehead on the Oskil River north of Kupiansk of Russian troops.
This was not only an important military success, but also dealt a significant informational and psychological blow to the Russian troops.
At the beginning of the year, Russian troops had intensified air strikes in the Kupiansk and Lyman directions. In this way, Russians are trying to drive Ukrainian defenders from the left bank of the river.
According to Viktor Trehubov, head of communications for the Joint Forces Group, the Russian army is gradually losing control of Kupiansk and is unable to regain access to the city within the desired timeframe.
Ukrainian military forces have established control over the Kupiansk City Council building. The operation was carried out as part of the city's deblocking under the leadership of the 2nd Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine.
In addition, the Ground Forces of Ukraine released aerial footage of the city of Kupiansk, destroyed by the Russians.
