A Russian drone attacked Zaporizhzhia on the evening of August 17. The strike sparked a fire on the grounds of one of the city’s garden associations, according to Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

The enemy struck the city at around 8:54 p.m.

Initially, there were no reports of casualties. Later, it became known that the attack had killed two people.

At around 10:14 p.m., Fedorov reported that a 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman had been killed in the Russian strike.

"Unfortunately, two people were killed: a 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman as a result of the enemy attack on a garden association in Zaporizhzhia," the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration said.

Earlier, on the night of August 15, two sites in Zaporizhzhia were damaged in a drone strike.

One of the targets was the Epicentr shopping center, where a fire broke out after the strike. A hit was also reported on the premises of an industrial facility.

On August 12, Russian forces destroyed a shopping mall in Zaporizhzhia and left part of the city without electricity. Kamikaze drones caused damage and fires in residential and commercial buildings.
