In the early hours of August 2, Russia launched over 50 drones at Ukraine from various directions, including from occupied Crimea, according to the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Russia carried out another attack on Ukrainian territory. During the night of August 1 to 2, starting at 6:00 p.m., the occupiers launched 53 aerial attack vehicles.

Among them were 45 Shahed-type combat drones and decoy drones, as well as 8 high-speed jet-powered drones launched from Russia’s Bryansk region.

Launches were recorded from several directions:

  • Millerovo, Kursk, Bryansk and Bryansk region (Russia);
  • Hvardiiske (temporarily occupied Crimea).

Units of aviation, anti-aircraft missile forces, mobile fire teams, electronic warfare systems, and drone systems were involved in countering the air attack.

As of the morning of August 2, according to preliminary data, air defense forces destroyed or neutralized 45 aerial targets:

  • 8 jet-powered drones
  • 37 Shahed combat drones and decoys

Drone impacts were recorded in five locations, and debris from downed drones fell in two others.

As a reminder, during the night of August 2, a large part of the Izium district, including the city of Izium in the Kharkiv region, was left without power due to a Russian attack.

At present, energy crews are already working to restore power to the community, and partial restoration has been achieved.
